Great question.
No it doesn't conflict at all. On the contrary; it complements and enhances other processes (agile or not).
In fact, it's one of the sweet spots of kanban. It can help you improve if you've reached a plateau in your current process. I know of a lot of teams adding the kanban principles to both Scrum and XP.
There's a guy called Corey Ladas that even made a hybrid method called ScrumBan (yeah, you can probably guess what that's made up of
