Hello everyone!

I'm a 26 years old PHP developer working in this area for around 4 years (Netherlands). I would need some help/advice regarding how I should prepare myself to move to a Java Developer job. I am very determined to make the switch.

It's been something I always wanted to do (mostly because of the bad programming PHP allows and because of the very few people who know how to use OOP, Design Principles, Design Patterns properly).

I like to program the right way and Java seems the way up for me. But maybe some people here have some other technologies suggestions (like other programming languages).

I read the Head First Design Patterns, I want to get the OCJP certification (maybe for Java 6) and I want to start learning things like Hibernate, Spring and other technologies needed to start a successful career in Java Programming (I think that Java is a technology that will live for many years to come and allow me to flourish in it).

Any kind of suggestions would help so please don't hesitate..

Thank you !

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
