Hi,
I am planning to take oracle 9i dba cerification.
I want to know the following :-
1). What all books is needed for each exams. I mean, is just book by oracle press enough? Pls state the Authors also if other is needed.
2). Is there any other practice test or anything that might help.
3). What are job prospects after getting certification.
Thanks is advance and early reply is really needed.

Thanks! and welcome to the JavaRanch!
Also you might find you will get a better response if the topic of your thread explains what you are asking. You used "help needed" but help needed in what? You can use a name like "oracle 9i dba cerification questions".
Unfortunately I am not a DBA so I won't be able to help you there. I know Oracle press books are really good. I also like the Orielly series, but they are better suited as reference material more than fun reading.
As far as the job market, I cna comment based on having interviewed DBAs a year ago. While having the certification is very good to have, you still need to be able to show your knowledge in an interview. If the interviewer asks about the SGA and how it works, you need to be able to answer that. Or what are the best ways to backup, hot or cold? How do you startup an instance. Questions like that that if you don't answer correctly won't get you a job whether you have a DBA certifiation or not. So while it will help, it alone won't get you a job.
Good Luck
Mark

I attended Oracle DBA administration(8i) training and passed the DBA administration(2nd) exam, a month after. I did not see anything in the exam which is not in the training book.
