Tomcat 5.5.7 : help

I have downloaded tomcat as specified in Head first servlets. I am trying to install this on windows xp. After installation when i try to test the service it says server not found. I'm testing using http://localhost:8080

Please advise

Not to be funny, but did you start the server, if so check the catalina.out for any errors.

Well, i figured this issue out. It had to do with jdk. tomcat 5.x happens to require jdk1.5. On reinstalling jdk1.5 it worked.

Thanks though.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
