In addition, I would like to know, are there any difference between normal edition and Indian edition? If so, what would be the major difference?

The author is already answered this in another thread. Indian editions are not available yet.

Nick,
There is no difference in content but in quality and price. The Indian edition is printed in India , hence is not of great print quality as their US counterparts. The Indian edition books are priced lesser (around 10$) because Indian salaries lesser .

If so, who will buy US edition?

Sometime Indian editions are not available, so people who afford (not me)will buy the US edition. I can only buy Indian edition.

The Indian edition is for sale in India only, or sometimes the Indian subcontinent, which includes India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

It is illegal to sell it outside of the permitted countries.

The Indian edition is meant for poor Indians like Pradeep & me As Pradeep said the only difference is between the price & quality of paper the content is the same.So if you are planning an India visit ,prepare a book list & come.

Does anybody know of any book shops in New Delhi where you can get 'authentic' Indian editions of tech books, esp. from Wrox and O'Reilly.

When I was staying there last, most of the shops were selling photocopied illegal copies, even of the 'Indian' editions...

Thanks.

I am actually looking for 'non'pirated books .

Especially with the tech books which have low priced Indian editions, the sale of pirated books hurts both the publishers and the consumers. If the money that goes to people running the pirated books racket went to the original publisher, they would (probabely!) have more reason to offer low prices, as they can still make more money because of the larger number of books sold.
