Please could anyone provide me a real time code example of prototype design pattern in Java. I am trying to learn the prototype design pattern concept. I have searched in most of the places but couldn't find a good one. Thanks in advance.

The wikipedia entry for Prototype pattern has a Java example.

Alternatively, Bruce Eckel excellent book "Thinking in Patterns" has a great chapter discussing the construction patterns with code examples. There is more reading involved as it is a complete chapter to be read in context, but it will give you a better feel for where the prototype pattern should be used as opposed to other patterns. Bruce has included the draft release of this book in his Free Electronic Books collection.
