Did Websphere studio Application developer's (WSAD) name change to Websphere Rapid Deploy (WRD). Is so what is the latest version of WRD and why the name change?

Thanks

It was changed to Rational Application Developer (v6)
Maybe IBM is merging Rational Rose and WebSphere.

Evylen,
WSAD, the IDE, is changing its name to RAD. WAS (WebSphere Application Server) will be leaving its name alone.

From IBM:

WebSphere Application Server Version 6.0 will add a number of features to simplify the development and deployment experience for developersenabling the pay-as-you-go notion of on demand computing. Collectively, these features are referred to as WebSphere Rapid Deployment (WRD). WRD introduces two key concepts: annotation-based programming and deployment automation.

So it looks like WRD is a feature, not a substitute, for WAS. It looks interesting. (The article goes on to explain the new features.)
