Hi,

I'm trying to do a comparison between MyEclipse and Rational Application Developer.

I've found a few links like these ->
http://www.builderau.com.au/program/soa/Java_jams_five_IDEs_tested/0,39024614,39174040,00.htm

http://www.devx.com/ibm/Article/26690?trk=Homepage_PN_IBM1

Unfortunately they're slightly dated referring to WSAD rather than RAD.

The main differences I can see are:

Cost - MyEclipse is a lot cheaper
WebSpere App Server support - better in RAD

So unless you're using WebSphere or can get RAD cheap through some agreement with IBM you should use MyEclipse.

What do you think?

Nick,
I agree with that statement.

The WSAD articles aren't as dated as you think. RAD adds support for Java/J2EE 1.4, but the relatives pros/cons are still the same.

does this statement mean that the configuration settings , installation all remain the same when we migrate from WSAD to RAD ?

please clarify and any difference (what so ever)between WSAD and RAD would b of great help.
