Is there any
java
api or any other tool that can be used to design java gui like similar to Visual Basic. I am looking for some open source project tools. I greatly appreciate if anybody provides any likes or info.

Look at the Matisse GUI builder in
Netbeans
, it's probably the best free GUI builder available.
Eclipse
has the Visual Editor, which is also not bad.
WindowBuilder Pro
is a commercial product that you can use to build GUIs with Eclipse.
