I installed KDE 4.1 the other day and within 10 mins, uninstalled it. (Among other things) it was a big turn-off seeing those BIG icons on the desktop. Though I guess there must be settings which can be tweaked to some extent, the default is not very attractive. So I am back to 3.5 which is way better. Anyone who had a better experience!

I've used it occasionally with the Kubuntu Intrepid Alpha releases. I don't hate it, but it's not winning me over quickly. The desktop being just another window? Meh. The K menu keeps losing me. I'll forget you have to click on the left side of the menu to get back to the higher level menu and sit there staring at it.
It's different, I'll give them that. It doesn't solve any problems I have, so it's not a welcome change.
