How can we detect using javascript if a user has clicked on the Stop button in their browser? If not, is there a workaround?
Thank you.

To the best of my knowledge, you can not detect when the stop button is clicked.

Eric has spoken the sad truth. Think about it for a minute. In order for Javascript to execute, it must be uploaded as part of a page. The stop button prevents a page from uploading (or at best completing its upload). So there's no context in which Javascript can execute.
What are you trying to accomplish in the first place? Maybe there's an alternate mechanism.
