form submit in Firefox

I use this code

<form id="myForm" method="post" onsubmit="create(); return false;">

to call JS function create(), which in term to submit the form. Meanwhile, the form keeps visible. (Its initial status is invisible)

This works in IE. But when I test it in Firefox, after clicking the submit button, the page refleshes and goes to its initial stage.

How should I change in order to let Firefox behave the same way as IE?

I didn't set the action.
Because the designed logic is: JS function create() uses Ajax to submit the form to a JSP file. But this html page remains the same status, which is why I put 'return false' right after calling create(). -- this implementation works in IE, but not for Firefox.
For Firefox, it keeps in the same page after submission, but the page status returns to the original as page is loaded as the first time.
