We have been using synchronous AJAX calls in our javascript SCORM API. It works great, except for situations where network connections are mediocre and there are intense media downloads, usually with Flash. In these cases the user experiences browser hanging or lock-up. The hanging goes away when we replace the synchronous calls with asynchronous. That's too bad because we can really use the synchronous!! Can you advise us on the stability of synchronous AJAX calls?
