I have a style that I set at the main table, but none of the embedded tables pick up that style. Do I need to set the style in all of the tables?

Set it up in your master CSS for the table tag.

Learn to use style sheets effectively. If you are using the style attribute on the elements, you're doing it wrong.

In a stylesheet, or in the page's style section, apply common styles to all tables with something like the following:
