Positive Energy is a well-funded, rapidly growing startup delivering products designed to make a significant dent in carbon emissions. We're landing major contracts and working hard to expand a communication platform for utilities and state governments designed to target the half of the global warming equation that not enough people are looking at: efficiency and energy demand. Our approach leverages innovative technology, direct marketing and behavioral science expertise, and world-class information design to change the way millions of people across the country think about and use energy.

ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for an experienced database engineer with at least five years of experience working with large databases and developing applications that access large databases. You will own the database design, administration, physical infrastructure and application access. You will be an integral part of a small development team that relies on a performant, well-designed database. You will be responsible for providing ad-hoc data to other business units.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Full ownership of our data warehouse design
* Full ownership of backup and recoverability strategy
* Ad-hoc query support for various business units
* Full ownership of design of partitioning, aggregation, and replication strategies

ABOUT YOU
* You have a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
* You are an engineer who somehow always manages to get far more done than your peers.
* You have experience with VLDB systems, including aggregation and partitioning strategies, parallelism, replication
* You are a guru with SQL and stored procedures
* You have at least five years experience working with MySQL and Oracle.
* You have experience working with applications that access terabyte sized databases
