double XML element and null value

Hi,

I have defined an element (QuantityShipped) defined with the double data type. The XML I receive back as no value <QuantityShipped></QuantityShipped> when it is 0. This causes a null pointer exception when I receive it.

Is there anything I can do in my code before I tell the XML supplier to change the XML to <QuantityShipped>0</QuantityShipped>?

You mean like? It could be more complicated than that, I suppose, depending on what's actually in your code.

I realized I could read it into a String first, but I was hoping to avoid that.
