Dear Javaranchers,
I am a newbie to this site but i could feel the heat from the lively discussions.
I would be appearing for the cert in couple of days. I feel that my prep is going fine but to give a last shot, i feel the need of some good set of mock exams.
As suggested by richard, john and many others on this site, i believe jwhiz product could be of help. It would be great if someone could answer my questions:
a.) Does jwhiz has a customization feature in it? Bcoz i believe looking at the current pattern of scjp, i would need to give special focus on topics like threds, io?
b.) Are there any good crispy notes on these topics: Threads, IO and Inner classes?
It would be a great help.
Thanks a ton in advance.
Best wishes
jos

Hi Joseph
Regarding JWizz, it is customisable based on various exam topics (threads, awt, io, lang basics etc). Furthermore these topics can be arranged along the lines of beginner intermediate and expert which seemed quite good. It seems you can get around 25 expert questions in each area (there were 9 areas if I remember) though a few questions seemed to 'shadow' Marcus Greene's mock exams.
In all I think its been worth parting with 25 bucks (well if I pass that is!!)
All the best Jim

Hi Joseph,
Yes do give focus on threads, io and inner classes.
Regarding jwhiz, yes u can cutomize to a great extent:
In terms of number of questions
time
topic
toughness level
I think you are not aware that you can try their demo version from www.whizlabs.com/jwhiz
All the best

Thanks a lot Dave, Jim and Deep.
The links for threads by dave looks really great. The thread really provides great sites i was not aware of.
And im really surprised to find all the features i wanted by checking the trial version of j@whiz. Infact i have bought the registered version and have got a great feedback from the diagnostic test. Jim, you were true, its highly affordable at such a low cost compared to the exam cost. My friends have been spending over 500 USD for training and stuff.
I will bother you again when i need your help.
once again thanks
jos

Dear friends,
I have been getting help from people like you.
I still need to go a long way before scjp.
I have not written any lines of code on io and threads like java topics. i would like to know about how much wightage do these topics have in the actual exam.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Joseph,
You'll get anywhere from 5 to 8 questions on Threads on roughly the same on I/O. Most of them involving code exhibits.
