Hi all,
Thanks to great articles in JavaRanch, I passed the SCJP last week with 94%. I just want to give a note of thanks to all those who have shared their thoughts here to help others.
As for my experience in the process, I would like to strongly emphasize the point that it is pretty easy to clear the exam with reasonable preparation. Here are my mock exam results to set yourself a benchmark.
Final Exam : 94%
Maha Anna's Exam : 90%
Heller's Book : 70%
Ramussen's Book : 70%
Exam Cram : 80%
I used the Ramussen book mostly, combined with the McGrawHill book. Both of them are really good. While Ramussen book is hard, McGrawHill is more towards the actual exam, maybe a bit more lenient.
Concentrate on Threads, IO, AWT, and Fundamentals.
Good Luck!

Hi,
Thank you for your warm wishes. With the confidence from this exam's results, I also plan on taking up the SCWCD exam. I see that JavaRanch has already published mock exams and the like.
Does anyone know how easy/tough it is? I don't see any books published for this exam.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sathya.

There is a "links" page in the SCWCD forum that tells you everything you need to know about the exam: http://www.javaranch.com/scwcdlinks.jsp
I heard that the exam is somewhat (some say a lot) easier than SCJP2.

Thanks for the link. I already went through the links mentioned there and even found a few mock exams!
Gives me a bit of a confidence when you say that it is easier than SCJP2!!
Sathya.

Congrats Sathya,
Great score
Where's Maha Anna's Exam? I couldn't find it in her list as well.
Regards,
