Hi all,

Cleared my Sun Certification on Saturday . Though I have been a silent member of javaranch I was a frequent visitor and the forums were of great help.

The material I used for exam. K&B book and Whizlabs. I would like to mention that K&B Book is really excellent as it not just aims at cetification but the onJob points mentioned are also of good help giving us an learning experience next best to actual hands on.

I had taken only 2 mocks before the test one given in the cd with K&B which I scored 69% and the Final Exam of whizlabs in which I scored 69%.
I would also like to make a mention of Whizlabs prep kit. It was of great help for me as i used to finish a topic in K&B and take up the questions in Whizlabs for that topic with all the difficulty levels.. That i think made a lot of difference.

My score Break-up is asfollows..
Declarations, Initialization and Scoping -91%
Flow Control - 90%
API Contents- 90%
Concurrency- 87%
OO Concepts - 90%
Collections/Generics - 70%
Fundamentals - 90%

Tips for those taking exam:

The main exam is comparatively easier than the Mocks in K&B and whizlabs. My view is that the exam stresses more on the Basics of every topic. So firstly have a solid understanding of the basics. Must do is to take up all the chapter end tests in the K&B and for those of you who have the Whizlabs software take up individual topic tests.

ok.... thats the end of a reallly loooooooong Post . If any further info needed please feel free to ask.

Oh.. one more thing.. now i am planning to take up SCWCD.. anybody whos completed scwcd or planning to do ...can you please suggest me what books to refer for this and any other tips or suggestions will be of great help.

Thanks
Papa Rao
