Passed at the second go.

I have to say that I have learned that doing test with exam-like questions has helped me alot to get a feeling of the real exam. At the first try I did not know what to expect and only studied the theory and flunked it.

The second time I reread the chapters, and made my own notes in addition to the two minutes after each chapter.
Together with these I made questions of the test exams. I kept the numbers of the questions categorized in an excel sheet and a row with wether or not I made the question correctly. After making all questions I used a filter to see which category needed still attention and done the q's again and again till I understood them.

Hope that these tips can help others to nail this one as well

Greetz,
Gijs

Hi Gijs,

Wow, you're certainly a lot more organized than most of the rest of us. Looks like all the additional preparation the second time around really paid off for you, though! Congratulations!

Indeed, I discovered that proper preparation is the key in order to cover *all* the topics (which are alot for SCJP), and it was handy for reviewing the topics I needed to recheck after doing the mock exams.

Regards,
Gijs
