Hi,

I am curious to know which one is more reputable and recognized in the industry, Sun SCDJWS or IBM Web services-related certs?

It seems that SCDJWS is not very popular although it has been out for a while. And it is a very difficult one.

Any comments from the veterans here? please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you.

I wonder if there is a connection between these two statements

At the least, a difficult exam should have a high market value.

My thought on it is that there's two related issues. Personally, I'm a big advocate of the SCDJWS, as it's more standards-based (I would think) than the vendor-specific exam from IBM. However, there's also the issue of the Sun exam being slightly outdated at this point, and not in the most immediate queue as far as I know to be updated soon. So it's something of a six-of-one, half-dozen-of-the-other situation... either way, I think it shows some skill with the technologies involved.

Insofar as which is more highly recognized... I think it depends on whether the companies you're looking at use IBM or not.

hi

SOA & Web Services are two different domains , but not all together different,
Web Services comes under SOA or you can say its part of SOA .

clearing SOA exams gives you architecture level advantages which is more about concepts related to SOA .

SCDJWS is purely develpoers exams for Java Based web services.
so it all depends what are you looking for .
