I have passed SCJP certification with 96%. Now I am planning to go for SCEA. I am very interested in learning and working on architecture part of software applications. This certification would help me doing that. But I don't have experience on EJB. I have worked on Struts, Spring, Hibernate, JSP, Servlets etc while working on J2EE applications. Looking at the contents covered under SCEA, it looks difficult to crack it without having sound knowledge of EJBs.
Please guide me how should I go about it. Are there any other Java certifications related to architecture or any new version of SCEA itself which don't make having sound knowledge of EJB mandatory.

I take scea5 and I don't have experience with ejb too.
I studied JavaEE Tutorial and played a little with ejb in netbeans
just to see it in action.

I have worked on web applications in which struts, Spring, Hibernate were sufficient.

It should be the opposite... Learning and working on architecture part of software applications would help you to get the certification.
That's why many people don't believe in the certifications.

Again, it sounds very strange to me. I didn't dare to take the certification until I didn't have some experience with the subject.

Agree, to take this certification, you need a good experience and study.

SCEA is much more than ejb, take a look in the ' Assignment Objectives'.
I have 6 years of experience and I never used ejb professionally.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
