PartII Web-framework

For all those who have passed part 2, please tell me which approach is better:
Using an existing web-framework (Struts or JSF)
Designing our own MVC framework based on the J2EE blueprints and patterns

I know in real world its better to use a framework, but I want to know what's the right thing to do for the exam.

I think any choice is fine. I didn't use Struts or JSF, instead I created my own web framework and submitted a sequence diagram showing how the web framework will work.
