I pass the exam today, thanks for experts here.
I think if you want to pass, just read through the book by heart with 'Deshmukh Malavia'. Do all the mock exams. Then you will succeed.

Is it a prerequisite to practise writing your own web application, web.xml's, and other code to pass the exam? Or is it possible to pass the exam with reading one or two books and taking mock exams, and not writing any code?

Actually i read 2 books, besides 'Deshmukh Malavia', i also read the WROX one.
And i have used to write J2EE application in office.
