Chapter 14: Patterns and Stuts - Question 1 (Pg 755)

I picked the right answer, but I don't quite understand the suggested explanation provided for one advantage of this pattern.

I don't quite see how the Front Controller Pattern "helps separate the tasks performed by application developers from the tasks performed by web designers". If web designers only have to deal with the View (of MVC), what difference would applying this pattern make to them?

I could understand it if the answer said that it separates tasks performed by the Application Architect (or Deployer) and the Application Developer. This pattern facilitates declarative control over page flow which allows:

(i) An architect can design the page flow of an entire application and then allow individiual developers to implement certain pages.

(ii) A deployer can change the page flow of an application without having to involve application developers (although he may end up with a few nasty emails from the developers).

This is another pedantic question (sorry, I'll get them out of my system soon), but have I missed something?
