Hello All,
If isELIgnored= true in page directive and it is left unspecified in DD, What is the effect?
Is EL evaluated or not?

Thanks in advance for all.

For that particular page, EL is ignored. If your xsd schema points to anything less than 2.4, then by default, EL is ignored in all your jsp pages (even if you don't explicitly specify).

No. Basically 1. EL is enabled by default.
2. page directive gains priority over DD configured <el-ignored>

So, if nothing is specified in DD, and page directive isELIgnored= false
or true whatever, does that have an impact?

Did you understand my post?? I did not say that EL is disabled by default. Here is a much clearer explanation for you.

When your web.xml's xsd is 2.3, EL is disabled by default and if it is 2.4, EL is enabled by default.

Hope the above statement explains everything. Hope you understood it as well.
