Thanks! I went into full time crunch mode over this weekend programming 6-9 hours a day. Probably 8 PM - 4 AM. After a while, you get so sick of it, you can't wait to upload it and get the burden off your back. Let me know when you upload your assignment. I would definitely like to hear some of your design choices you made because I know we have the same assignment!

Good luck Daniel,

After a while, you get so sick of it, you can't wait to upload it and get the burden off your back.

About a year ago there was a frequently asked question in this forum: how do I know when I have done enough to submit? The common answer was: when you are sick of the assignment

Regards, Andrew

I just got back from taking the essay portion after having to wait an hour to register (Sun has this fun little game of recursive telephone numbers to call to get a voucher ). No surprises one bit concerning the exam (took me roughly 15 minutes a question). My only advice without giving away the answers is to make sure you can think of advantages and disadvantages for every decision in your application. Even if you are unsure why you chose that, make sure you can find ways at least to somewhat justify your choice so you're not just shooting the bull for 4 questions.

Nice to hear this.
Do you have to type the answers on a computer, or is it hand written ?

I typed out my answers on the computer. I wasn't aware that they gave the essay in the second form. Do they?

Hi Daniel,

I'm sure you passed the test and the project. Your emails were well thought out and very helpful. I'm getting close to submitting mine also.

Daniel,

based on the advice you gave, would it be safe to say if someone wrote a clear, thorough choices document for the submission, they won't be so stressed when doing the essay portion?

Hey Vincent, if you're the one who wrote the application, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I did not find the questions too difficult and the questions were much more concise than I thought they would be. All they are doing is making sure it was you who wrote the application. So if your application uses RMI but you explain in your essay about why you chose Sockets, then you're in trouble. But the essay's not a big deal. I read over my design choices on the drive over to Prometric. Hope that helps!

Was that you driving on the sidewalk?

Good luck with your exam grading, and congrats on submitting. Please tell us, though, what is the beverage of choice once the test phase is over?

Jared, it surely was me After all of this programming with multi-threading I have mastered the art of multi-threading in daily life; i.e.: driving to the test center and reading up on my design choices on the road (not highways, not that crazy.hehehe) and at stoplights.

Well, considering I'm only 18, I'll go with a good ol' pint o' Vanilla Coke and top it off with a decent night's sleep.
