Hi folks,

I just visited the Certmanager Site and noticed that I passed SCJD with a total score of 382. It took me about 14 month of spare-time to finish the assignment. But I only had to wait three weeks for the results .

I lost 2 points at OO-Design and 16 ( ) at the GUI.

After coming back from the essay exam I noticed that I answered one question of the essay exam partly (50:50) wrong. Might this be the cause for the deduction?

I really like my GUI and would like to upload a screenshot for discussion if the moderators permit. No problem if not.

I would like to thank all members and moderators active at JavaRanch. I mastered SCJD without a single posting in the forum, just by reading through existing postings (and by buying a copy of Andrews book ).

SCEA Part II is next.

Congrats, Stefan. Do you have lot of experience in java development. Did you use Head first design patterns (Kathy et al) and Effective Java (Josh Bloch)?

Thanks,

Harish

Hi Harish,

I am doing Java at the office for three years now.

I really like the Head First series, but I own the GoF book (I remember having used Singleton, MVC, DAO, Value Object and Factory pattern).

Never heard about Effective Java, but I will look it up at Amazon tonight...

Good luck!
