What is iconifiying ?

what does it mean when we say a component is "iconified" or "deoconified"?.plz explain.

I think iconified and deiconified refers to the Minimize and Maximize button in a Windows environment.

What Niraj said is correct. Iconified is the common usage to say that the window or application is minimized. In many other platforms, when you minimize the window it will show up as an icon in desktop. Deiconified mean it is again restored.
