While reading a post about Hibernate, I wanted to try installing it in Eclipse and test a mapping. Does anyone have any streamlined instructions or suggestions for getting Hibernate working in my system? I'm not looking to actively run it on a server so much as I am interested in eclipse plugins that validate Hibernate XML files with their associated classes.

There is the plugins Hibernate provide, or have a look at Hibernator.

That aside, Eclipse plugin questions are better asked in the IDE forum. Moving this to there...

Actually my question wasn't about eclipse, I was referring to a hibernate quick install of any type, with or without a specific ide.

Moving back to O/R since it turns out not to be an Eclipse question.

Scott, Around the world/forum in 40 days/a few hours. How's that to get IDE and O/R people seeing your post?

Scott,

If you want a self-contained example you might want to download the source code for my book. It uses maven2 as the build tool and so will automatically download all of the required Jars including HSQLDB (embedded Java DB).
