hi,
can you explain to us how you came to create Ibatis, which technical bakcground you had previously, and which technical skills do you think helped you to conceive this framework ?

The short story is that iBATIS was a tool in my own personal toolbox. One day I released this highly controversial demo app called JPetStore that was meant to debunk some of Microsoft's claims about .NET. JPetStore had a lot of eyes on it, and I happened to use iBATIS. People noticed and asked about it, and so I open sourced it.
