Does setPriority stop thread..?

Hi,
Does calling setPriority on running Thread stops thread..?
Note..irrespective of what priority value is set..

I don't think so. There are two exceptions that may be thrown when attempting to change the priority of a thread. One is a SecurityException if the owner does not have sufficient permissions to change the priority, and the second is IllegalArgumentException if the requested priority is not within the interval [MIN_PRIORITY,MAX_PRIORITY]. But none of those exception will actually kill or stop the thread.

If an exception is thrown,but not caught the corresponding thread is killed.

If RuntimeException (or subclasses) are thrown but not caught the thread is killed ???

RuntimeException does not need to be declared if it is not caught, but it will still kill the thread.
Try this:

    {
        System.out.println( args[0] ); // throws ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
                         //(a RuntimeException)
    }
}
