Publish / Subscribe Web Services

Has anyone successfully implemented publish/subscribe web services? We're recently investigating using it and wanted to know if anyone has any lessons learned or useful tips.

Specifically:

WS-Eventing versus WS-Notification -- Do any COTS vendors actually implement either of these yet? To implement pub/sub is it strictly required that you choose one and use it?
