I want to take Sun certified Programmer Exam. I went to Sun site, i found two version of Exam jdk1.2 and jdk1.4,Which one to take? I have no clue about these exams, can some explain in detail about these exams and guide to Study.

I didn't even think they were still offering a cert for jdk1.2.
I suggest you do the jdk1.4 because that is the newest. You should also check out the SCJP forum here on JavaRanch!

And another thing I want to add is: jdk1.4 will be around longer than jdk1.2, correct me if I am wrong.

Don,
If 1.2 was the precursor to 1.4, How can 1.4 be around longer than 1.2 if 1.2 was out first?

1.4 will be around longer (and the certification will be valid for a longer period.)
Some quite significant changes have been made in 1.4, so it is worth learning about these, and ths doingthe 1.4 certification.....
