Hello Guys,
I am new to this place - and new to Java as well. To get to understand it and teach it to others in future, I thought I should work towards the SCJP certification.
I am just now following an online course from Sun Microsystems, but I have to admit that it is quite tough.
Can it be clearer after, say, 200 hours??
Any idea on time, especially if one works at it for about 3 hours everyday? Can one be good in 3 months??
Thanks!

If you work 3 hours per day with java and use this forum I think you could learn lots in 3 months. If this is your first programming language, it is only natural becoming confused sometimes though.
Good luck! If you get confused here are lots of people who can help you.

Java-Sun SCP-Java,
Welcome to Javaranch, a friendly place for Java greenhorns
If you are new to Java, you should first consider spending some time in the Java in General (Beginner) forum in order to grasp the basics of the language, and then, once you feel comfortable enough, to come back here and study for the certification along with the other SCJP aspirants. Good luck
Moreover, we ain't got many rules 'round these parts, but we do got one. Please change your displayed name to comply with the JavaRanch Naming Policy.
Thanks Pardner! Hope to see you 'round the Ranch!
