I am weak in garbage collection and multithreading concepts can anybody suggests me some good material available on these topics. That will be of great help to me.

If you mean downloadable material I would suggest for
multithreading:
sun tutorial on threads
Bruce Eckel's book
garbage collection:
Bruce Eckel's book
I use these two sources though (sun tutorials, and bruce eckel)
as backup for other litterature, K&B and R&H, which are my most
important references.
