Im a new member here in javaranch. and just read some of the SCJP passers topic. And WOW!!! somebody got 100%.
Anyway, im studying also for the certification. Im reviewing using the Sybex book. I have read many review regarding this book, and most of the reviewer gave a low score on this book.
Im from the Philippines, and the great books on Java certification that many people suggest is not available in our country.
Help pls!!! I cant afford another $150 in possibly retaking the exam. Thats lots of money in our country.
Any tips, reviewer i could get will be of very great help!!!

Rolie,
First of all, welcome to Javaranch.
Secondly, which book you own isn't going to dictate whether you pass or fail the exam. Use that book as best you can and then supplement it with online resources. You've already for Javaranch so you're probably halfway there already. If you have questions, post here to get them answered. Is there a better approach? Absolutely. Hang around here and try to answer some questions - if you can teach the material to someone else, then you really know your stuff.
Try some of the mock exams online (I recommend Dan Chisholm's) and be sure to check out the API Specs on Sun's site and the JLS.
Be sure to check out the Certification FAQ, as well.
You see, there are gobs of resources out there just waiting for you. Don't get too bent out of shape about which book you own. Hope to see you around the ranch, pardner.
Corey
