Type of Compilation Error

Is it possible in SCJP 1.4 exam to ask such question :

A program is given that has compilation error and we have to find out the type of compilation error like what exactly compiler will return .

Although it is depend on type of compiler ...

please clear my doubt .

You might or might not need to identify which type of compilation error is encountered. For example, you might be given the following codes:

public class test {
  int i;
  public static void main(String args[]) {
    ...
    i = 10;
    ...
  }
}

Obviously, you can see that the code cannot be compiled. And this might be already one of the answers to be chosen.

However, some questions might also provide the reason, such as Compilation fail because, say, the main method does not declare any exceptions to be thrown; Compilcation fail because static methods cannot invoke non-static instance members, etc.

U could also find q which say "compiler error bcos of line 4..." and so on...

this is one of the very common options with code q in scjp 1.4
