Can the K&B book, Head first java 1st edtition ,2003 be used for SCJP 1.4?
And is the material on Threads in K&B book enough for exam preparation?

Hey Janki,

Sorry, HF Java really isn't meant to be used to study for the SCJP, it's more of a foundation book than a certification book.

The book you refer to when you say 'K & B' is our SCJP cert book from Osborne. That book is for the 1.4 exam, and right now we're updating it for the 1.5 exam - we plan for the 1.5 version to be available at the beginning of September.

HTH,

If you were entirely new to Java Head First would be an excellent place to start, but as Bert says it is not aimed at the exam at all.
