Hi guys,

I want to be SCJP.Initially i thought it would be better to give the 1.5 exam. I studied for it
for 1 month from the the Heller Robrts Book. But at the end of one month i thought it would be
difficult for me to pass the exam. I came to know that i would 'just pass' or 'just
'fail'.So i decided to switch over to 1.4

At this moment what matters to me is 'certification' and not the exam version.

I have been studying K&B book and i have donde with 6 chapters.

But my queston is that
"Will preparing the K&B book completely and throughly suffice to get a decent score in the exam?".
When it comes to SCJP exam everyone talke only of onew book "K&B".

The other mock exams on the web are not quite close to the style in which the real exam asks
the questions. The web resources tend to be ambiguous and dont test the "concepts", the way K&B book does.
Another problem is that if i get doubts in these exams i have no one to discuss with.Posting on
javaranch is too a limited stuff.

Also, the Whizlabs Simulator, people say that the questions are very tough as compared to the real
exam. But i think doing all the chapter tests and giving 1 mock exam per day from the whizalb
software can give a strong hold over the real exam.
The whizlabs software can halp in practicing "the time constraint"

Another resources people talk of are Dan Chisholm questions, Bil Brogden, Khalid Mughal etc etc
I hav downloaded all of Dan's Questions. But dont have anyting of Bill and Mughal(just the
test engine)

Still, i have went through hundreds of questions from websites like
javacertificate.com. i have downloaded all 9 quizes from about.certificate.com plus questions
from javaprepare.com, again the "Sahir Shah Mock (difficult ) test". But i dont see myself
solving these questions because the material is SIMPLY lots of to do.

I wanted to get certified by january first week.

Will it be fine if i do-
1) K&B book 100%
2) Practice a lot on Whizlab and develop 'test taking' techniques
3) Do all Dan Chisholm's questions (plus something you suggest)

Please help me out to develop a final and solid strategy. Thanks in advance
Niranjan

Hi niranjan even i am in same condition as you. i have done various mock exams available on net but i think the questions in them are quite easy and if you have completed the whizlabs simulator then i think all fundas are clear to you know. ACCORDING TO ME ITS MORE THAN ENOUGH be confident go and take test my wishes are with you.otherwise you will be get stuck in this trap of mock exams. main thing is command on a concept. not too many questions on a single concept.
