I am working with exceptions and getting this warning. I am using Eclipse IDE. Does anyone know what this means? My code is working.

The serializable class BadFoodException does not declare a static final serialVersionUID field of type long

Go into quickfix and see the options it gives you.

I did that, it made the compiler happy. I guess this is some type of version variable for my code.
