please why Math.rint(12.5)=12.0 ?

i have problem to understand the Math.rint(12.5) why the result is 12.0
thanks a lot.

From the API :
If two double values that are mathematical integers are equally close, the result is the integer value that is even.

So it won't return 13.0, but 12.0.
