Maybe I am missing something very simple here. How can I view postings I have made in past? I see in search you can query on member number, but I cannot locate my member number from my profile. Any help appreciated.

You can see your member profile under your name in each of your posts. Like the one I'm replying to right now. It's 55489.

Or if a list of recent posts will do, just click on the View Recent Posts link in your profile. That gets you a list of about 50 posts (maximum).

I must be blind. I can't find View Recent Posts in My Profile or anywhere else?

All I've got is View/Update profile and Private Messages. Nothing under View/Update profile either.

Confusingly, your Profile and your "My Profile" are not the same thing - and the latter, while providing access to some things that only you can view or edit, does not contain all the info that others can see about you via Profile. Nor does one have a link to the other.

Anyway, it's the Profile (not My Profile) that has a list of recent posts. To find your Profile, go to any one of your posts and select the little falce-and-question-mark icon just to the right of the date. Or bookmark one of these links:

Craig Oliver
Bob Cernohous/

Anyone other than Bob or Craig will have to find their own link by looking at one of their posts.

So Jim, it sounds like your saying "to view your recent posts, go to your Profile, and click 'recent posts'. to get to your Profile, go to a recent post..."

do you see the potential problem here? or am i missing something?

fred,

It's just the way the forum works. When people can't find their number they post here and then there's their member number. Someone points it out to them if they still don't see it.

See this other post, Topic: Member Number? for additional suggestions,

- use google to find yourself
- I posted a non-intuitive list of clicks to get to your profile from "My profile"

[Fred]: do you see the potential problem here?

Yes, but I considered it too obvious to comment. At least it's easier to locate just one post (of any date) than it is to locate all of your 50 most recent posts. If a person is totally unable to find any of their posts, they could always make a new post just so they'd know where one is.
