Hey guys,

I will be taking the scjp5.0 exam next week. I got the confirmation email saying the appointment Duration are 3:15. I also double check the exam no and it is 310055. I remember the exam time should be 210 mins. ???

Did anyone know why? Thanks.

You're given 175 minutes to complete the SCJP 5, not 210 min. Prometric's 3h 15min appointment duration is an estimate that includes the entire exam duration, plus some time for the tutorial, pre-exam survey, and administrative processing.

(And, yes, I know there's at least one report of someone being given 210 min for the SCJP 1.5. But this hasn't been properly substantiated/corroborated yet.)

That someone happens to b me!!!I got 210 mins for the test

I need to retake the test in a couple of weeks and this doubt over exam duration has left me in a fix.
I guess the best way is to prepare according to the 175 min schedule.if we get 210 mins, then its just good luck

Is it possible that the prometrics site did a fast overview and gave you the extra time by mistake? That would be a bit unfortunate as it's both unfair but possible just an honest human mistake. Maybe you should check into this further yourself and then let us know what you've found out. You're original post has me sort of freaked out as I'm supposed to take the test later this week. So I think many of us would like to know what you find out.

You wont get 210 minutes for the SCJP 5 exam. The time for this exam is 175 min(That time is more than enough). The time for SCJP 6 is 210 minutes(as shown in sun site).

Hi Jitendra,
How many questions did you get? what was your score?

I heard that every 1 out of 10 people get 6 or 7 extra questions!!
These are dummy questions so no points/marks for that, but you won't be told which ones are dummy, obviously!
So for these lucky (or unlucky ? ) people, time allotted is 210 mins!
