I have to execute lot of ISQL commands using the Runtime.exec(). The problem is on Windows OS, it opens up a new popwindow for every process. It is very much annoying to have many new popup windows. Is there any way to prevent the windows getting poped up when running a process by executing Runtime.exec().

We can run a process by using Runtime.getRuntime().exec(String command). The String command can be any operating system command. For example like copy c:\trial.txt c:\tmp\trial.txt etc.,

When you say Runtime.exec(), this starts the process given by the command and opens up a separate popup window while doing that process.

My question is is there any way to eliminate the popup which is appearing

Yes there is a way to avoid the popups:
START ["title"] [/Dpath] [/I] [/MIN] [/MAX] [/SEPARATE | /SHARED]
[/LOW | /NORMAL | /HIGH | /REALTIME | /ABOVENORMAL | /BELOWNORMAL]
[/WAIT] [/B] [command/program]
[parameters]

Notice the "/MIN" option (above). This will cause the window to run minimized.

There are other options also. Let me know if you want to here more.
