how can i embed a setup program in jsp.so that client can execute the progm or save it to disc. tried Runtime.getRuntime().exec but it execute in the server not in the client.when setting content type .exe but then the jsp file is opened or saved in the client side plz help!!

Just provide a normal static link to the executable, as in
<a href="setup.exe">setup.exe</a>
when the user clicks on it, the browser should give them an option of running or saving it, unless they have changed the browser preferences of course.
