We have a JSP that waits for data to be posted to it...it's a form that gets any bytes that are posted to it, so essentially, files can be transferred over HTTP by posting them to that webpage. We call it a listening or landing page, but I'm wondering if there's some standard way of referring to that in the industry...

Yeah, I guess so...I guess the typical upload pages that I know of with JSP/servlets/beans usually make use of a FileUploadBean to parse a multipart form post since on an upload page you usually have to allow the user to input the location of the file with a Browse button and all that jazz.
We tend to use this kind of page for messaging stuff...

Typically (and preferentially) this type of processing is handled by a servlet rather than a JSP.

Good call. I agree. I was trying to explain to a guy at another company how to set something up like that on their ASP site.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
