Can somebody help me on this please?

I need to know what is the best hosting for j2ee jsp, servlet, struts, php, mysql. $10 p/mo or less would be good.

thanks.

Hi,

I have a site hosted at RimuHosting (see www.rimuhosting.com) and I have no problems at all. The technical back up is excellent and I would happily reccomend them. Thing is for $10/month I don't think you will find a stable hosting setup...

My site is an International Digital Photography Gallery and we have thumbnail images in a database and the bandwidth I get is very good and the pages load very well. The server setup is a Linux virtual server which means I can play with the Tomcat and MySql set up as I please(VERY important for me). I have had 0 downtime since I started with them (fingers crossed).

To find this company I did a search on Google for JSP hosting and then once I had shortlisted the companies I was interested in I did a Google search for the company name + 'problem'. As you can imaging they all had people in forums complaining... except Rimu.

I suggest you use the same search technique.

Hope this helps (I do not work for them),

Bye

Terence pointed out a good way for you to find the "best" (which apparently means "cheap") hosting service for you. Only you know what you mean by "best" so I'd suggest following his advice.

I've been with http://www.javaservlethosting.com/ for more than 2 years now. Take a look at their prices and decide if you're willing to pay for it.
If you want some free services, you should check out www.myjavaserver.com. This was previously www.mycgi.com but since they lacked the money to keep their server up, they got help from www.javalobby.org.

You could also just host it on your own machine if you have some type of broadband connection. Then all you have to pay is the registration fee for your domain name.

Remember that you get what you pay for. Many cheap services have apalling customer service and/or (usually and) extremely restrictive contracts with very expensive clauses for things like exceeding bandwidth limits and expanding the contract with extras.
They're often also unlreliable, with far higher downtime and slower connections and computers (thus more unhappy users who have to wait very long for your pages to load).

You don't get ejb's and you only get one servlet, but www.hostgator.com so far for me has been an excellent host. But your mileage may vary depending on what you need.

One servlet? Do you mean one context?
