how to display records in different pages

Hi,

how do i display records retrieved from database in different pages.
for example-: 1st five records in first page
6th to 10 records in next page and so on

just as in java ranch page also we have
1 2 3 4 5 6 7

1-displays 1st 20 messages
2-displays 21 to 40 messagess and so on

pleases help me.

It is called paging or pagination. There are many previous discussions about this in the forum. Also, there are some open source projects for this, one is displaytag, http://displaytag.sourceforge.net/
