i am using jboss ;

Is release() is life cycle method of taglibs?

previously i used OC4J server ;oc4j called release() for every doStartTag() and doEndTag();

why jboss is not calling realease() for every end tags()?;

release() method is called only when the tag handler's instance is removed by the container.

Unlike simple tag handler, classic tag handler's instance are reused. So you can't be sure when release() method will be called by the container.
